If you’re a seasoned camper with all the gear, great. If not, we have several fine canvas tents available to hire so you can try camping out or pitch alongside friends (we love canvas – it’s waterproof, cool in the sun, warm when it’s chilly and much quieter than polyester in the wind).
All our pre-pitched tents come with top-rated thick air mats for a comfy night’s sleep, hot water bottles, cosy lighting and a table and benches – we can lend other bits of equipment if we’ve got them – just ask. We don’t provide bedding because it gets a bit damp and unpleasant over a whole season – it’s easy and much nicer to bundle your own duvet and pillows in the car and snuggle up in them at bedtime. However we do have a number of sleeping bags for those arriving on foot or by bike – please ask when you make your booking.

Grass Tent Pitch
Large tents – sleep 6
We were so chuffed to find these four amazing tents from New Zealand* that are expressly designed to stay up all summer and withstand a similar (though more full-on) climate. They are large and solid with plenty of space and headroom; lots of light but also nice and dark when the windows are up so your little ones sleep longer in the mornings. The big bedroom and living area can easily accommodate a family of 5 and the porch provides shade and shelter. In fact we like them so much, we live in one all summer ourselves.
*NB We are currently replacing our large tents with brand new ones, though it’s taking longer than expected to get hold of them. Please rest assured if booking one of our large pre-pitched tents that it will be of a similar standard to these shown and described though possibly not identical.
Prices include parking for one vehicle, airbeds (byo sheets, duvets and pillows), hot water bottles and blankets on request, cosy bedroom lighting, table and 2 benches that will seat up to 8. If you need chairs we have a limited number available on request. Please bring any extra lighting and other equipment you think you might need.
Prices per person, per night (minimum £72 a night; 2 nights minimum at weekends, 3 nights for bank holidays). Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate dogs in our pre-pitched tents. Four tents available.

The Sheratons: Roy, Pat, Val and June
Vintage tents – sleep 3 or 4
Family camping 70s-style, these beautiful tents sleep 3 comfortably in the cosy inner tent (or 4 if some of them are small children), with plenty of head room to sit or stand in the main living area; classic rounded stable door openings; windows with original 70s curtains and some have an optional porch for shade on hot days.
Prices include parking for one vehicle, top-rated self-inflating air mattresses, (byo sheets, pillows and duvets), hot water bottles and blankets on request, cosy bedroom lighting, benches and table.
Prices per person, per night (minimum £60 a night; minimum 2 nights at weekends, 3 nights for bank holidays). Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate dogs in our pre-erected tents.

The Grunderful
Snug vintage tents – sleep 2
These vintage beauties are ideal for a romantic get-away or for kids who want some independence. They sleep two in their cosy inner tent, with plenty of head room and space to sit or stand inside the main living area.
Prices include parking for one vehicle, airbeds (byo sheets, duvets and pillow), hot water bottles and blankets; cosy bedroom lighting, table and chairs.
£60 per night for two people (minimum 2 nights at weekends, 3 nights for bank holidays). Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate dogs in our pre-erected tents.

The Snug
*This year our costs have gone up meaning we’ve had to put our prices up too. We don’t charge extra for the car park, freezer use, dogs, hot showers or device charging like some campsites, but we know holidays can be expensive. If you’re on Universal Credit, contact stella@woodfire.co.uk with an email/scan of a letter from the Job Centre and it will be our pleasure to give you a 30% discount.
