- FOOD
From Thursdays to Sundays*, we cook up something delicious for breakfast and evening meals. It’s always over woodfire or charcoal, either on the grill or in the pot. Breakfast tends to a bacon/egg sandwich or avocado bagels with tea or real coffee. Dinner is usually grilled meat or fish and salads or delicious stews with gremolata and home-made flatbreads – we always provide a vegetarian option. Our meat is free range and usually straight from the farm we’re on or within 10 miles; our salad and many of our vegetables come from the kitchen garden behind us and wherever possible, we source our ingredients locally. Plans for summer 2021 include outdoor feast nights and guest chefs on the days we’re not cooking, as well as day and residential mid-week courses in fire-cooking, foraging and butchery – keep an eye on our website and social media to find out more.
There are plenty of tables and chairs for socially-distanced communal feasts around the Camp Kitchen, or head back to your own pitch for private dining. Either way, no one needs to be the designated driver home! AND you can go and have a lovely lie-down in the sun/in your tent afterwards; the one thing that’s missing form most fine dining experiences!
We email you a few days before your stay with the menu and ask for your orders in advance so we know how many we’re cooking for. Prices range between £8-£14 for adults and around £5 for kids. We’ll always try to do a bit more in case the delicious smells lure some late-comers, but once it’s gone, it’s gone!
